Shanghaied on the Willamette is a well-balanced acoustic duo blending fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandola, bodhran (Irish drum), tin whistles, and harmonicas. Gordy Euler is a gifted vocalist and a multi-instrumentalist who flavors their music with the waves and struggles of the sea life they portray. Jonathan Lay supplies his deep and poignant voice which carries into his percussion and guitar. Becky Harrison's review of Shanghaied On the Willamette and Weighing Anchor for the KBOO (Portland Oregon) Listeners Guide, April 1997. See the full review. You won't have to be shanghaied into enjoying Euler and Lay's music, however: Let's hear more from them. Review of Weighing Anchor in Sing Out (Vol 42 # 3 p. 155). See the full review.
